OUR BILLING POLICY

From 1st of May 2024 our fees will change, Nollamara Medical Centre will still bulk bill children under 16 yrs old, pensioners, and concession card holders. We will bulk bill eligible chronic disease care plans, and eligible health assessment.

Weekdays

Standard consult $80 (medicare rebate $41.40) out of pocket fee $38.60.
Long consult $145 (medicare rebate $80.10) out of pocket fee $64.90.
Mental Health Plan $145 out pocket fee $44.80
Telehealth $80 (medicare rebate if eligibility criteria meet).

Weekends

Standard consult $90 (medicare rebate $41.40) out of pocket fee $48.60.
Long consult $150 (medicare rebate $80.10) out of pocket fee $69.90.
Telehealth $90 (medicare rebate if eligibility criteria meet)

Telehealth services are available at our medical centre, payment is required before the consultation and it can be made over the phone. The eligibility criteria to have a medicare rebate are: you need to have presented at least once in the last 12 months to our practice and

  1. patients who have confirmed COVID-19 or suspected to have COVID 19, or asked to be self isolated and quarantined by a health professional or coming from overseas in the last 14 days

    2. or

  2. patients at risk to catch the infection :
    • people over 70 years old, or
    • aboriginal above 50 yrs old, or
    • people with chronic disease (for example asthma, chest disease, heart disease,..), or
    • people who are immunocompromised (or on immunity suppressants), or
    • parents of new babies under 12 months old, or
    • possibly pregnant women

You can make phone consultations via our website, Hotdoc, HealthEngine or by calling us. If you do not fit the criteria and still want a phone consult, there is no medicare rebate for it and will be privately billed at $70.

Worker’s Compensation consultations, Pre-employment Medicals and Drivers licence medical fitness consultations are not covered by medicare and will incur a fee. Please call our practice for more information on 08 6444 7890 Surgical procedures, dressings, Mirena insertion, implanon and Iron infusion: there will be a cost for consumables. Please ask the doctor or the nurse before any procedure if any out of pocket expenses will be incurred.

DID NOT ATTEND (DNA) AND CANCELLATION POLICY

Due to the high demand for bulk billing appointments and the high number of non-attendances and cancellations for GP appointments, we will charge a fee of $40 per single consultation or for double consult a fee of $80 for any appointment that is not attended or not cancelled within 8 hours of the appointment time.
If this account is not paid, a letter of suspension of services and the outstanding account will be issued. This letter will see your access to all services suspended until accounts are paid. There may also be the possibility of permanent suspension from the practice at the doctor’s discretion for repeat offenders.
We have many wasted appointments every day and by introducing this policy we hope patients will consider cancelling their appointments so that others may access them if required. If you have any concerns please speak with our reception staff.

FOLLOW UP OF RESULTS OF INVESTIGATIONS:

URGENT RESULT:

our practice will try to contact you by phone provided to us by you to make an urgent appointment with the doctor. If you are not contactable, we will try again and we will send you a letter to your address to make an urgent appointment.

NON-URGENT RESULTS:

our practice will try to contact you by phone provided to us by you to make non-urgent appointment, if you are not contactable we will try again and we might end sending you a letter to your address to make non-urgent appointment.

If your results are NORMAL we will NOT contact you. You are welcome to phone us to check if your results have been returned to us, but you will have to make an appointment to discuss these results.
At no time are results provided to you over the phone due to confidentiality laws.
Patients are contacted for recalls and reminders. If our attempts at contact are unsuccessful a letter will be forwarded to your address to contact us for an appointment.
Confidential information is not included in these letters. All personal information is stored on a program specific, encrypted computer data base.

Emails also reviewed regularly, please email us on info@nollamaramc.com.au we will reply your email with a phone call or an email, but again patient results and medical informations will not be provided in emails or phone calls due to confidentiality laws and your protection.
